Child Development Days Screening
Thursday, April 6, 2017-groups starting at 4:00 PM & 5:30 PM and Friday, April 7, 2017-groups starting at 8:00 AM & 9:30 AM
Child Development Day is an opportunity for children with a birthday between 9/1/2012 and 12/31/2014 to be screened. If your child is between 2 and 4 years of age and has never been screened, or if you have concerns about their development, please call to schedule an appointment. We strongly encourage all district children to attend regardless of where you plan to send your child to school.
Our mission is to provide parents with:
- An opportunity to assess your child’s development
- Information on child development
- possibility of hearing/vision screening depending on availability of equipment
Your child will have the opportunity to play and interact with peers in a small group setting for about an hour. During this time, our team will assess their development in the areas of cognition, motor, personal-social, speech & language, and self-help skills through observations and small tasks. To make this a special day for your child, please do not bring siblings along.
To sign up for a time to have your child screened, call Algoma Elementary School office at 920-487- 7001 by April 1, 2017. After you are registered, we will mail you a developmental inventory to fill out at home and return at the screening as this will give us information about your child’s development at home.
If you have questions, please contact: Rachel Schneider, Early Childhood Teacher, at 487-7001, ext. 1100
