Algoma Education Capital Fund Scholarships

The Algoma Education Capital Fund (AECF) is excited to partner with individuals and organizations in an effort to make more scholarships available to area students.

The following scholarships will be administered and processed through the AECF committee.

Janice (Dettman) Hanamann Scholarship

Janice (Dettman) Hanamann

The Janice (Dettman) Hanamann Fund offers a one-time scholarship to a worthy graduating high school senior planning on furthering their education.

The criteria include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be a graduate of Algoma High School.
  • Must be enrolled in a trade school, technical college or a 4-year college.
  • Must be in need of Financial Assistance.
  • Completed Scholarship Application & Essay  (500 words or less)
  • Include two letters of recommendation which would indicate the applicant’s qualifications for receiving this scholarship.
    • One recommendation letter must be from a representative from the Algoma High School

The awarded student will receive a scholarship in the amount of $250.00.

The award will be distributed upon proof of registration at a postsecondary institution.

Muskrat City Sportsman’s Club Scholarship

Muskrat City Sportsmens Club

The Muskrat City Sportsman’s Club is offering a one-time scholarship to a worthy Algoma High School Senior graduating in 2021 and planning on attending a two- or four-year institution.

The criteria include, but are not limited to:

  • Student-written essay
  • Completed scholarship application
  • Community service
  • Extra-curricular activities
  • Academic achievement
  • Graduate of Algoma High School – Class of 2021

The following are, in order, the preferences of consideration for awarding the Muskrat City Sportsman’s Club Scholarship:

  • Applicants that are pursuing their education in a Natural Resources based field
  • Applicants that are pursuing their secondary education in Agricultural Studies
  • Other applicants, as the scholarship selection committee deems appropriate.  While not considered a preferential consideration, applicants that have demonstrated an interest in outdoor related activities (conservation, agricultural, hunting/fishing, shooting sports, etc.), would be in line with the mission of the Muskrat City Sportsman’s Club.

The awarded student will receive a scholarship in the amount of $750.00.
