#SeniorSpotlight
My name is Kaitlyn Paul, and I am a senior in the art department. I moved to Algoma in 8th grade and started taking classes with Ms. Louis right away. I fell in love with art. I have always been passionate about creating, but I hadn't taken art seiously until this point. As I got older, I started to experiment with different materials and art techniques, and I found a love for doing portriats and creating collages. These forms of art became my happy place. I have used art as a way to express myself and portray my emotions. I have also used art as a form of therapy. I feel like I have grown so much since my 8th grade year. Honestly, if I told my 8th grade self where I am today, she wouldn't believe me. I saw no future for myself as a child, and now I'm finally seeing my purpose because of art. I plan on going to community college and getting an Associates Degree in the Arts or Journalism. I see myself creating art as a hobby or side job in the future. Overall, I am very gratful to the art department for getting me what I am today. "Kaitlyn has been a huge part of the art department for so many years, and we will miss her when she graduates, but we are so excited for the oppertunities she has created for herself, and proud of how much she has grown and matured." - Miss Louis. #fineartsnight #engageconnectignite
