February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Today’s Teens class and the Violence Intervention Project would like everyone to be more aware of teen dating violence.

High school girls who have experienced dating abuse are 2.6 times more likely to report an STI diagnosis.

Yearbook Orders
Have you bought your yearbook yet? If not, they can still be purchased online at the Jostens link for Algoma High School, or you may order in person by getting an order form from the office or Miss Louis. The price is now $50.00, and as the year progresses this price will increase, so order now!


The next yearbook meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19th.


NWTC Engineering Open House
Middle and high school students interested in the engineering field are invited to attend an open house at NWTC on Thursday, Feb. 20th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Students interested in a 4 year degree are also encouraged to attend as NWTC has agreements with 4 year institutions for transfer options. Modeling Opportunity
Attention all Juniors… Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a model? Well, now is your chance. Ambient Photography in Kewaunee is currently holding its 2021 Senior model/representative call. Last year Algoma had 5 representatives on team Ambient. If you are interested please check out the model call on Ambient’s Facebook page or contact Jackie at 255.2813.


Law Enforcement Career Academy
Are you a high school junior or senior who is interested in a law enforcement related career? The American Legion, Department of Wisconsin will be holding their 4th Law Enforcement Career Academy from June 22 – 26, 2020 at The Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Ft. McCoy. 

The academy is open to 50 Wisconsin high school juniors and seniors. There is no cost to the student. The student cadets are housed in the dormitories at The Wisconsin State Patrol Academy, all of their meals are provided. The applications for the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy are now available with a deadline of Tuesday, February 25th.  Students in good standing who are interested in a law enforcement related career are encouraged to apply.

Color Me Algoma Run/Walk
The t-shirt contest is now open for our 3rd Color Me Algoma Run/Walk. Click here for the entry form if you are interested in submitting a design for this year’s t-shirt. Submissions are due Friday, February 28th. 


Volunteer Opportunity
Algoma High School is hosting the BayLake Regional Destination Imagination Tournament on Saturday, February 29 (snow date March 1). Help us give a warm welcome to the schools in our region by taking a time slot as a hall monitor, door monitor, or at the souvenir table.

As a thank you, you will receive an event t-shirt as well as lunch! If you sign up by February 3, 2020, you can select your t-shirt size.  After that you will not be guaranteed the correct size.  Due to your familiarity with the program, former DI-ers are strongly encouraged to help out.

NWTC Campus Preview Day
NWTC in Sturgeon Bay is having a campus Preview Day on Friday, March 6, 2020 to show students the awesome programs that the SB campus has to offer. If you are interested in Culinary Arts, Nursing, Welding, Massage Therapy or Diesel/Mechanics, this is a great opportunity for you! Lunch and transportation will be provided. Please see Mrs. Holloway ASAP to sign up. There are limited spots available.


Bellin College Summer Camps
Applications for summer nursing and imaging camps are now open! This is the chance for students to find out the roles, relationships and responsibilities that make the medical imaging and nursing professions so rewarding! Camps are open for high school students who are sophomores and juniors at time of application. Apply online at  Deadline to apply is April 30 or until camps are full.


VIP Teen Group
VIP’s Teen Group will be meeting every Wednesday during the 1st lunch hour (11:40-12:10) in the Board Room. Please bring your lunch and feel free to bring a friend. Hope to see you there!


Any students who have photos from: volleyball, football, soccer, cross country, one act, the Halloween Walk, or homecoming (dance, events, hallways, dress up etc.) who would like to have their images featured in the 19-20 yearbook; please bring your photos to Miss Louis, so that they can be uploaded to the yearbook website.



Don’t forget to fill out the half PURPLE sheet in the office when requesting your transcripts be sent to the schools you list.  You can put more than one school on one sheet.
