Do you:

  • Want to give something back to the sports you enjoy?
  • Want to stay involved in sports?
  • Want some physical exercise?
  • Enjoy working with kids?
  • Enjoy the opportunity to meet people and make new friends?
  • Want to earn a little extra money!

Then consider becoming a WIAA official!

Become a WIAA Official

Participation in high school athletics does not have to end with graduation. Any individual who is 18 years old or a high school graduate may become licensed with the WIAA and officiate high school contests.

It certainly is not necessary to have been an outstanding athlete to be a good official. It does help to have participated in the sport you wish to officiate and to have a basic understanding of the rules of the game.

There is a critical shortage of officials throughout the state so your love for and knowledge of high school sports will help sustain sports programs well into the future.

To get started, you just need to complete a license application available on the WIAA website.  If you have any questions please contact David Robertson, Athletic Director, Algoma School District at 487-7001 ext 2111 or drobertson@alghs.k12.wi.us.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
